The goal of this project was to create an intuitive, user-friendly web application for residents and visitors of Cyprus to navigate the island while staying informed about air quality and traffic conditions. We wanted to design a tool that not only helps users plan routes but also empowers them to make smarter decisions by visualizing real-time air pollution data alongside traffic updates. The app needed to feel seamless, visually engaging, and accessible for people of all tech levels. The map itself was designed to be the centerpiece, with smooth zooming and panning for effortless exploration. We integrated real-time traffic data to highlight congestion areas with color-coded markers and added a route-planning feature that calculates the fastest path while avoiding heavy traffic. Air quality data, pulled from local sensors, was overlaid as a heat map, with detailed pollutant levels. The weather widget was added to give users a quick snapshot of conditions, like temperature and cloud cover, to round out the experience.
